On July 30th, I had my final Long-Distance Walking Workshop in 2022. I had two enthusiastic walkers out learning more about long-distance walks and trails.  We spent 5 hours walking 13.5km up and down Djouce Mountain in the Wicklow Mountains. We would walk, stop at designated spots and chat about trails, preparation, gear and what to expect on those trails.

The walkers were interested in learning more about the wilderness trails in the US, in particular, the Appalachian Trail and climbing up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and trekking to Everest Base camp in Nepal.  Some of the topics we discussed were: footwear, sleeping comfortably, nutrition, backpacks, clothing/gear to bring, walking at higher elevations, town visits, water purification, Leave No Trace Ethics, trip preparation, training and much more.

The three of us has a fantastic day out in the Irish Mountains! This is the last workshop for 2022 but can organize group and private workshops if there is interest. Get in touch to discuss.
