The workshop will introduce you to the world of long-distance walking, providing invaluable information to help prepare you for your next adventure. The workshop will take place in mountains in the greater Dublin area. The 5-6+ hour session will allow for plenty of time to walk and discuss the many aspects of taking on a long-distance route including planning, preparation, training, weather, gear, clothing, food, staying tough mentally and much, much more.
Mark Flagler has hiked over 20,000km / 12,400 miles on trails on 5 continents. He has hiked on wilderness trails in North America including the Appalachian Trail (2,200-miles), Continental Divide Trail (3,100-miles), Pacific Crest Trail (2,650-miles) and the International Appalachian Trail. In Europe, he has trekked on the Camino de Santiago (French Route), A Wanderer Path in Norway, International Appalachian Trail across Ireland, Wicklow Way, Kerry Way and others. Mark has also trekked in Patagonia (Chile and Argentina), climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, Mount Elbrus in Russia and countless mountains in North America.
This workshop is perfect for anyone considering the challenge of walking a long-distance trail. Either a wilderness trail, pilgrimage route or a long trail in Ireland.
