Do you want to learn how to capture better photographs outdoors?

Come join Mark Flagler for an Outdoor Photography Workshop to help improve your photography skills. This workshop will take place at Castletown House & Parklands in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland. The group will spend 3-4 hours capturing some of Mark’s favorite locations in Castletown. Mark will talk through his process of capturing inspiring images, from camera set up, nailing focus, exposure settings, framing and execution. Each attendee will capture their own photographs, practicing those discussed settings and see for themselves the outcome and gaining valuable information to help improve their photography.

Mark will also discuss long-exposure photography, time-lapse photography, photo processing, cameras, lenses, photographing wildlife, filters, weather apps and much more. The workshop will help each attendee understand the process of capturing better images, offering some techniques and settings to improve their photography skills

The workshop and what to expect

The group will meet at the front of Castletown gates on the main street in Celbridge in the afternoon (location here). We can discuss as a group the exact time to meet. After a 10 minute meet and greet we will walk down the Avenue of Castletown to our first location to photograph. Mark will set up his camera and discuss the settings he uses to capture those images according to the lighting conditions, framing and weather. Then each attendee will capture images, discuss the process and move to the next location. The group will visit 8+ locations to capture the scene and learn an experienced outdoor photographer.

At the end of the workshop we will grab a cup of coffee or tea and continue our photography discussions.

Important to know

Plan to be out on your feet for up to 3 hours. You will need to be physically fit enough to walk comfortably on trails for 4 kilometers carrying your camera gear, additional clothing, food/snacks and water. Pay attention to the weather for that day and dress appropriately. Please do not leave any valuables in your car during the workshop.
